Potted Amaryllis (Peruvian bulbs)

$29.99Price
  • Amaryllis are gorgeous winter flowers that can be forced indoors and enjoyed at a time when other local flowers are scarce. Depending on conditions and the origin of the bulb, amaryllis can take anywhere from 4-10 weeks to force into bloom.  With the potted amaryllis, we've begun the forcing process for you.

These bulbs are jumbo amaryllis, measuring 30/32cm (circumference).  With amaryllis, the bigger the bulb, the grander the display of flowers. These Peruvian bulbs typically produce 2-3 stems of 2-4 flowers each over the course of a few weeks.  They are faster to force than the Dutch bulbs, so you can expect to see them blooming by the holidays!

Potted amaryllis come in several bulb/container variations.  Choose from the following varieties/colors:

    Red Victoria-- bright, Christmas-red

Revelation-- red with white veining (dusty red)

    White Candle-- white

In addition to choosing your bulb, choose your container from the following options:

White Ceramic Cube-- 5 in wide by 5 in tall (no drainage holes)

Round Beige/Blush Ceramic Compote-- 7 in wide by 4 in tall (no drainage holes)

Graphite Round Clay Pot-- 6 in wide by 5.5 in tall (with drainage and saucer)

Beige Round Clay Pot-- 6 in wide by 5.5 in tall (with drainage and saucer)

Black Round Clay Pot--6 in wide by 5.5 in tall (with drainage and saucer)

Gray Round Clay Pot--6 in wide by 5.5 in tall (with drainage and saucer)

If your container does not have drainage, you simply need to be more careful about not overwatering.

All potted amaryllis include potting soil around the bottom 2/3 of the bulb, and Spanish or reindeer moss added as the finishing touch around the top of the bulb.  Detailed instructions (including how to get them to rebloom next year!) are included.
